Enhancing the Minority People’s Digital Capabilities in Contemporary World

The Yangon School of Political Science (YSPS), with support from PSEC-Myanmar and Child’s Dream Foundation, implemented a project to enhance digital literacy among Rohingya students in Rakhine State. The project consisted of two rounds of digital literacy training for a total of 41 Rohingya students, alongside a qualitative mini-research study on their digital learning challenges.

The trainings successfully improved basic digital literacy and cybersecurity awareness among Rohingya youth. Participants can now apply their skills to pursue informal education and support their communities. Research insights reveal significant digital literacy gaps and structural barriers, emphasizing the need for continued support, improved access, and tailored digital education programs for Rohingya students.
